COVID-19: Graduate Student Resources

  • Student Health: Students experiencing symptoms of COVID-19 should report to . SHS is offering telehealth visits in addition to in-clinic visits if the telehealth provider recommends an in-person visit, lab test, x-ray or nurse visit. Call 336-758-5218 and follow the prompts on the menu. There is an after-hours nurse advice line for students at the same number. If deemed appropriate by the telehealth provider, off-campus students will have access to SHS, who will arrange for a visit to campus if necessary.   • Counseling: The University Counseling Center (UCC) recognizes the impact that the COVID-19 public health crisis is having on the WFU community and is also available to graduate students. Visit their website for more information on how to get assistance: .

  • Food Access: Students who have purchased meal plans can still use them but they are limited to take-out meals only. Access to campus will be permitted. Visit the website for information on what venues are open and the hours of operation. Information is also available at . Delivery options are not available for students living off-campus at this time. There are a variety of food services and/or delivery options available including: , , and . Many local restaurants are also offering free delivery or reduced fees, as well as curbside pickup. Visit your favorite local establishments’ websites, social media accounts, or call/email for details. As a reminder, the stay-at-home order does allow you to go to local stores for groceries and household supplies.   • Financial Support: Graduate and professional school students with concerns about unexpected expenses due to completing course work remotely, including, but not limited to, travel costs, access to food, and the cost of an internet hotspot due to unreliable/nonexistent WIFI, should contact financial-aid@nullwfu.edu explaining their situation. The Student Financial Aid office will review the student’s concerns and make a determination of eligibility for emergency need-based funding on a case by case basis.
